Tanzania offers a beautiful landscape, an array of wondrous wildlife and a cultural experience like no other. On this trip, we’ll take you beyond the safari and onto the beaten path—the one that’s not walked by tourists, but by the people who call this beautiful country home.
BEADING WITH THE MAMAS
Join Maasai women and practice traditional beading, which allows families to thrive as they earn a sustainable income and keep this essential element of Maasai culture alive.
Roll up your sleeves and get ready to help build a new school. You might be putting up a wall, mixing cement or painting a classroom. As you continue to work on the site, watch your building progress. Spend some time talking to the locals as the bricks get higher and the school gets closer to completion.
Join our Maasai warriors/guides as they speak about the Maasai community, culture, practices and taboos. They’ll also tell stories about lion slaying. This is also a great opportunity to ask any questions you might have about this deep and rich culture.
Enjoy a leisurely hike as you learn about medicinal herbs from a local Maasai warrior. You will also have the chance to train in the art of Maasai weaponry as you enjoy a cup of chai or a glass of wine on the hillside.
